Happy New Year everyone! One of my goals this year is to get back to doing weekly book reviews. I read over 100 books each year, but with all the time I spend writing and reading, it seems I get behind on my blogging, so hopefully this will help me keep up with it better. What would be your favorite day to read a book review? Please leave a note in the comment section! I will draw one commenter to win a choice of one of my 5 published books. And if you can think of a catchy title for the book review page, I will even put your name in the hat twice!
My fave book so far this year is by Rachel Hauck, so I will start with The Wedding Shop. It is the third in a series of wedding books, but I read this one before I read the other two–The Wedding Dress and The Wedding Chapel, and this book whetted my appetite to read the others. So, although they are mentioned in the other books, I don’t feel I missed anything by reading them out of the order they were written.
All three of these books have a modern romance wrapped up in a romance (or three or four!) from bye-gone years, so whether you like historicals or contemporary books, you will find something to love in each one.
The Wedding Shop introduces Haley Morgan who returns to Heart’s Bend, Tennessee, where part of the action for each book is set. After a stint in the Air Force, Haley wants to open up the old wedding shop she and her childhood friend used to play in and pinky-swore to someday open and run together. But, her friend died recently, so she wonders if she can do it by herself.
Against unsurmountable odds, she attains the money and the help she needs to do the remodel, causing her to believe in miracles again. And, she learns the answers to some family secrets and falls in love. As with all of Rachel Hauck’s books, you will experience drama and losses along the way, but can rest assured the book will finish with a happy ending!
