Hope you will welcome my cyber-friend and author of Buying Love, Toni Shiloh
Blog post by Toni Shiloh
In my book, Buying Love, Nina Warrenton is so consumed with the things she doesn’t have, she fails to realize the things she does. Has that ever happened to you? I’m reminded of the words of 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (KJV).
It’s so easy for us to be distracted by the have nots that our praise turns to complaints. Yet, God promises us an abundant life. So why can’t we be thankful? Our flesh is always trying to gratify itself. It’s why it’s human nature to focus on the negative instead of the positive. The flesh is on a constant quest to make itself happy, no matter the consequences.
Reader friends, I’m so thankful that the Lord came to save us from our flesh’s desires. Now, we can set our minds on heavenly matters versus the ones of the flesh. Still, it’s not an overnight conversion. It’s a daily battle, sometimes minutely. Our mind has to be constantly renewed with the good and our eyes ever on the Lord.
Nina has to learn the same lesson. She needs to learn to give thanks and recognize God’s presence in her life and what He’s blessed her with.
