Review of A Groom for Mama by Catherine Castle

I did a guest blog by Catherine Castle two weeks ago on how A Groom for Mama came about, and just finished this delightful read yesterday! Highly recommend! It is laugh-out-loud funny even though there is a death in the end.

As you can see from the blurb below, you know the Mama is dying from the beginning, although the daughter thinks it might be a ploy to marry her off. And the funny parts come from the dates Allison goes on since she and her Mama make a deal that she will take a treatment for every date Allison makes. One of the funniest is when Allison is swept away on horseback by a re-enactor posing as a medieval knight.

The romance comes in from her ex-boyfriend Jack who accompanies them on their trip because he will do anything for Mama or Allison. And there is a surprise ending that wraps it all up happily. So, if you like to read fun romances like I do, this is the book for you! You can always go back to the September 8th post and see her other info and buy links.

Blurb for A Groom for Mama
By Catherine Castle

Beverly Walters is dying, and before she goes she has one wish—to find a groom for her daughter. To get the deed done, Mama enlists the dating service of Jack Somerset, Allison’s former boyfriend.

The last thing corporate-climbing Allison wants is a husband. Furious with Mama’s meddling, and a bit more interested in Jack than she wants to admit, Allison agrees to the scheme as long as Mama promises to search for a cure for her terminal illness.

A cross-country trip from Nevada to Ohio ensues, with a string of disastrous dates along the way, as the trio hunts for treatment and A Groom For Mama.
